You kids still like that Soul Eater, right?

The OSMcast returns somewhat triumphant from our holiday hiatus with an episode all about holiday Christmas Specials! So warm up some eggnog, curl up at the fire, and do whatever holiday things that you do while we spin you a yarn of holiday cheer and bullets.

We tried something off the cuff with Basil asking for comments from his Twitter. It seemed to go well, so expect for such tom foolery in the future. Thanks to every one that responded!

A Christmas Story and It’s a Wonderful Life were modest/lesser hits when they first came out, only to become classics with repeated viewings on TV.

Also check out Married… With Children’s It’s a Wonderful Life episode with Sam Kinison. Everyone’s life is better without Al Bundy and he HATES that!

Malev, “It’s a Bundyful Life,” now get it right
And “It’s a Wonderful Life” was a bit of a flop, and it had conflicting copyright issues. That’s why it got shown over and over during the holidays all through the fifties, sixties, and seventies. The TV rights to it were dirt cheap and they had to show something on TV. It was that constant exposure that showed everyone what an underappreciated and vastly underrated gem of a movie it was. It’s certainly better than the movie it lost to at the Oscars, “The Best Years of Our Lives”
